Chrysalis: Under the Stars

Join Lanta at her home, Rock Maple Farm in Strafford, NH for this annual women’s camping retreat! Born out of a dream. Birthed on a new moon in the middle of a global pandemic. 10 women joined together to camp under a canopy of trees and a sky full of stars and be supported in personal transformation. It was so much fun that we do it every year!

This year, we meet just before Litha, the Summer Solstice. The sun is at its peak. The evenings are cast in a glow that can only be felt in this special time of year. Summer’s sweetness is surely something to celebrate! And celebrate, we will!

As light triumphs over darkness, we will harness the healing energy of the sun and reconnect to Nature through the elements of air, water, fire and earth. You can expect daily asana Practice, delicious home cooked meals served in the 200 yr old farmhouse, forest bathing to sit at the feet of the Oak King, candle work, stream dreaming, transformation breath work and a dance around the bonfire!

You only need to bring your tent, bedding, a camp chair, your yoga mat and an adventurous spirit. We do the rest! $444

Need a tent? We’ve got you! A 2-person tent with 2 cots, sleeping bags and a battery powered lamp is available for an additional $200. We also have a 1 person teepee tent for $150.

Align + Shine with Emily

In this morning yoga class you’ll enjoy a quiet stillness when you arrive, begin class with a slow flow to get the body warmed up, and then energize your body and mind with more vigorous postures. You will leave class feeling grounded, revitalized, and prepared to flow into the rest of your day. In this class, postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body.

This class explores variations of sun salutations, a range of standing, seated, and supine postures, breath work, and a relaxing savasana to close out the class. Props will be used in this class to insure proper alignment and students are encouraged to modify poses to create the experience they need for that moment.

All Levels Vinyasa Flow with Kaitlin

This active class invites students to explore asana and engage the breath as you move smoothly transition between poses…all to a kick butt playlist.

Barre with Chelsea

Barre is a workout that combines elements of ballet, yoga asana and pilates. It focuses on low impact, high intensity movements to build strength, and develop agility and flexibility. Beginners are welcome.

Classical Vitality with Sheila

This class will generally follow the format for Gentle Yoga Flow but is modified for those with reduced mobility, those recovering from injury and anyone who may find it difficult to move from floor to standing and back again. Students will work on flexibility, gentle strengthening and balance. A chair will be used for support.

Classical Yoga with Lanta

This hatha yoga class begins with a brief sharing of yoga philosophy which is interwoven throughout the class, allowing the student to understand the holistic science of yoga and bring this awareness into their everyday lives. Through the combination of asana (physical postures) and pranayama (breath work), we prepare the body for the deeper spiritual practice of meditation.

Classical Yoga Flow with Sheila

This gentle form of Hatha Yoga is accessible to all.  Although Yoga is best known for its postures, this is only a small part of Yoga. By applying awareness to our practice of postures, Yoga becomes more than just physical exercise. It becomes a process of personal growth and self-discovery. By making Yoga philosophy applicable to real life in today’s world, students leave class with an effective understanding of what it means to be healthy, to relax, to live in the full awareness of each moment and to fully enjoy their lives.

Pilates Fusion with Kelly

A mat-based Pilates class focusing on building strength, flexibility, and mobility. We will incorporate standard Pilates sequences, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles, as well as strength-building yoga flows, short cardio bursts, and balance sequences all set to fun motivating music.

Restorative Yoga/Yoga Nidra with Cherie

This class offers a combination of classic restorative yoga postures with the deep relaxation of Yoga Nidra.  Restorative Yoga is a gentle, slow, still type of yoga that invites the body back to its natural alignment while encouraging a release of deep-rooted muscular tension, stress and tightness through the support of props. To complete your total body and mind relaxation we will finish with Yoga Nidra practice. Benefits of Yoga Nidra practice include stress reduction, management of chronic pain, symptoms of depression and anxiety and relief for insomnia or sleeplessness. This class is suitable for all ages, abilities and physical conditions and will complement any of your other mind/body regiments. Please bring with you a blanket, a bolster or pillow, yoga blocks and a weighted eye mask if available to you.

YOGABODY® Trapeze with Chelsea

Take your yoga practice to new levels with the Yoga Body Trapeze®. This fun new practice will allow you to deepen into familiar asanas while also toning and strengthening through new poses as well. The inversion aspect of this class allows a unique relaxation in a suspended atmosphere. You can lengthen using gravity as a tool to help ease back pain and strengthen the body. The slings and straps bring the floor to you as you start with a familiar warm up, move through some conditioning and a fun flow to end in a relaxing unique floating savasana. This class is limited to 5 people and pre-registration is required.

Yoga/Trapeze Fusion with Chelsea

This class will combines Chelsea’s love of Classical Yoga and Yoga Trapeze. The first 30 minutes of class will include discussion of Yoga philosophy, warm ups and asana, allowing the body to teach us about our unique anatomy, as well as our strengths and limitations. There will be an option to use the Trapeze for some of the poses, but not required. The second half of the class will focus on inversions which offers the options of strength building, deep stretching and core work. The class winds down with a deep relaxation and meditation. If you have wanted to try Yoga Trapeze, this is a great opportunity to learn how to incorporate it in your Practice. This class is limited to 5 people and pre-registration is required.

Yin Yoga (Yin + Din) with Kelly

A slow moving series of long-held, passive floor postures that work the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. You’ll be led into a meditative-style practice with soothing music and a comforting space to bring your body, mind, and soul back into alignment. Take a stroll to Dante’s afterwards for dinner and a drink!

Lanta Totten

Owner & RYT500

Lanta received her 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training in Classical Yoga at the YogaLife Institute of NH. Her classes are mindful, interwoven with yogic philosophy and open to all levels. Her unique style and sense of realness invites ease in her students. Teaching since 2011, she is passionate about sharing how to live the 8-fold path of yoga and step into one’s authentic expression.

When not on the mat, Lanta enjoys her life on a 200 year old farm in Strafford with her husband, 3 sons and too many critters to count.

Cherie Bartlett

RYT200

Led with compassion, Cherie’s classes are a combination of creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and laughter to encourage individuality, compassion, self-love, and radical self-acceptance in her students. Her hope is that her students take what they learn on the mat, off the mat into their daily lives for an inner sense of peace and joyfulness.

Cherie’s intention is to make yoga accessible for all; to pass along the benefits yoga has gifted to her, just as her teachers and mentors did for herself. Cherie, RYT200, is an independent yoga instructor and resident of Strafford N.H. where she lives with her husband and feline fur babies.

Chelsea Chasse

RYT200

Chelsea completed her 200 hr training through the Yoga Life institute in 2019 as well as a 25hr Yoga Trapeze certification through YOGABODY®. Chelsea likes the simple things in life and wants to help you to create space to enjoy the little parts of your practice that you may not always pay attention to. Through these little practices we can create a space for mindfulness and gratitude.

Chelsea’s classes range from relaxing and restorative to upbeat and motivational. She invites you to join her in any of her offered classes to help inspire your passion for your unique practice.

Shelia Pierson-Roy

RYT500

Sheila began her journey into Yoga in her 40’s as a way to maintain her flexibility and strength through a gentle form of exercise. She soon realized there was much more to yoga than she expected. It became an exploration of the ancient philosophy and classical orientation of the 8 limbs of Yoga – a way of life. Sheila graduated from YogaLife Institute of New Hampshire’s 200 hour Classical Yoga teacher training program in February of 2012 and 300 hour Comprehensive Yoga Therapy program in June of 2013. Through her practice as a student and teacher, Sheila has discovered that students find their own unique balance and wholeness in this life long practice. Sheila’s passion is keeping adults moving with grace into their mature years and in assisting them in finding their harmony and balance. Sheila is also a Reiki Level 2 practitioner.

When not on the mat, Sheila enjoys being outdoors in nature – walking, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing or spending time with her growing family – two adult sons, daughters in law and 4 grandchildren (so far). She resides in Strafford with her husband Jon and intrepid Chihuahua, Poppy.
